AltonA Junior Football Club

We are the Vikings!

EST. 1918

Altona Football Club was established in 1918 in a Pier Street cafΓ© by James Duke, Dick Blomberg and a number of other business people from Altona.

In 1965, the Club expanded to include Juniors, who then in 1991 transitioned to their own entity as the Altona Junior Football Club. Both clubs are still very closely aligned as one large β€˜Vikings’ family, continuing to share the same Purple & Gold colours and theme song.

Congratulations to Paul & Kat for being awarded the well deserved respect as Life Members for the Seniors this week. At a time when they were supposed to be taking a β€˜break’, they instead came straight over to the Juniors where Kat was/is an extremely respected Team Manager and Paul an all important Stats Man. All of this in their first year β€˜off committee’ and β€˜resting’!πŸ’œπŸ’›Proudly announcing our newest Life members; Paul and Katrina Eishold, unanimously voted at our 2024 AGM on Monday night. Β You cannot separate these two humans, their relationship has fostered and grown around the Vikings, sharing more that ten years with our club, so it is only fitting that they be recognised together.Β Spanning over a decade of service to the Altona Football Club, they have seen the highs of premierships and the lows of our competition ceasing during covid. Combined, they have dedicated β€˜thousands of volunteer hours’ to maintaining and fostering a culture that we all enjoy today.

Together they have sat on executive committee for almost a decade, but let’s see if we can separate them for a moment.
Paul: General Committee in 2014. Vice President to Posty between 2015-2018 whilst the club was being raised out of the red, back into the black. Paul then took the reins as President in 2019 for five years before stepping down at the end of the 2023 season. Paul has been instrumental in the recent branding and shaping of our club, securing major sponsors and maintaining their vitality and continued support. He continues to sit on our Viking Valhalla Coterie of which he is one of the founding members. It goes without saying that Paul has given everything he has to his club as β€˜Prez’. Kat: General Committee in 2014. Joint Administrator alongside Eleanor from 2015-2018 before moving into the role solo in 2019 remaining there until the end of 2023 season. She has been pivotal in moving the clubs’ administrative tasks into the digital age, navigating the rudder of events manager, canteen and safeguarding Viking player welfare. Recipient of the WFNL’s Lindsay Patching Memorial award for the 2023 Club Official of the Year, Kat has proven her dedication to our club and the league a hundred times over. Β Anyone who has been involved at this club in the past decade knows how much these two humans have given. Sincere thank you to you both, for the dedication and love you have both shown this great club. It would not be where it is without your continued unwavering service. Paul & Kat, you will make good company on the honour board, congratulations. πŸ™Œ ... See MoreSee Less
