**Important Information**

Two registration fees must be paid to play

• League registration $29.50 (pay WFNL via PlayHQ)  
• Club registration $380 (pay AJFC based on receiving an Offer)

Existing families receive priority access to League Registration.

• Existing families – Link will be emailed across Nov & Dec 2026 
• New families – Link will be posted here from January 2027 

League Registration allocates players to an age group competition based on their date of birth.

For example, in 2027 players born in 2017 are allocated to U10 competition.

• Families do not get to choose their age group competition.

Families pay Club Registration after receiving an “Offer”

Offers will be sent by email in 2027:

• Ungraded Age Groups (U8 – U10) – based on first to league register. 
• Graded Age Groups (U12+) – based on team selection.
• Place on a team is only secured when the club registration fee is paid.

Payment assistance may be available on request.

• For example, use of Get Active Vouchers, Family Discount ($330 for 3rd child+) and Payment Plan options.

Managing numbers for teams is complex, so please communicate with the Registrar directly. Requests to anyone else are not official. 

Families are strongly encouraged to read the Club Handbook, Registration Policy and the Team Selection, Grading & Rotation Policy on our website so they understand the process.

TEAM SELECTION

As per WFNL policy, date of birth informs Age Group allocation.

Only league registered players are considered for team selection.

• Ungraded teams (U8 – U10) – Selection is based on first to league register.
• Graded teams (U12+) – Selected to be competitive.  
• Offers are not guaranteed given team numbers are capped by the WFNL.

SEASON

Pre-season training usually begins the first week of February.

WFNL junior matches are played on Sundays.  

Round 1 starts on 18th April 2027 and continues every Sunday except for byes on 13th June & 4th July. 

There will be 14 rounds in 2027 followed by a 3 week finals series mid to late August.

Game times range from starting at 8.40am – 2.40pm. The younger age groups are generally the earliest.

TRANSFERS

If your child has played for another club previously you will require a transfer to play for Altona Junior Football Club. 

All players carry transfer points, based on league rules, so transfers cannot be guaranteed.

Please express your interest to the Registrar as soon as possible.

CLUB COMMUNICATION

All communication is via Stack Team App. Families must download Stack Team App and search for ‘Altona Junior Vikings’. Step-by-step instructions are included in the Welcome Email families receive after league registering.
